Air Polutants

People are getting sick just by staying indoors, where we thought it was safe.

The Facts:

  • Indoor Air is up to 100 times worse than outdoor air (American College of Allergists).
  • 50% of all illness is caused by indoor air pollution (Environmental Protection Agency).
  • Indoor Air Pollution is America’s Number One Environmental Health Concern(EPA- Environmental Protection Agency to the U.S. Senate, November 1996).
  • Indoor Air Pollution is widespread. You are more likely to get sick from pollution in your home and office than from pollution in the air outside. (The American Lung Association),
  • Americans spend approximately 90% of their time indoors. Asthma is now the leading, chronic illness among children, affecting one in ten. (Yale School of Medicine).
  • Lost productivity associated with indoor air pollution costs businesses an estimated $60 billion per year. (Environmental Protection Agency)

People Suffer From Sick Indoor Air:

  • Eye irritation caused by sensation of dryness and redness.
  • Chronic respiratory illness and asthma.
  • Dryness and irritation of the throat.
  • Headaches, lethargy, fatigue and poor concentration.
  • Skin irritation caused by dryness and rashes.

Sick Building Syndrome:

This terminology is used to describe buildings in which occupants experience acute health effects that appear to be linked to time spent in such a building, but no specific illness or cause can be identified. Often the only common denominator of Sick Building Syndrome is insufficient ventilation air to remove the contaminants.

Note: Formaldehyde, for example, is one of the volatile organic compounds (VOC) commonly found in building materials and paints. Chronic exposure to formaldehyde can cause many serious health problems.

In some new buildings the problem can arise from the use of synthetic materials (such as insulation or carpeting) which release hydrocarbons or other vapors into the air at a very low rate. The solution in this case may be to remove the offending material and replace it with an acceptably, innocuous alternative.

Indoor Toxic Problems

When people spend more time indoors, the enclosed space traps various toxic organic chemicals and odors emitting from building materials, stored chemicals and/or decaying matter that causes irritation and long-term illness. With controlled temperature and higher humidity, our working and living space often become the ideal breeding ground for all sorts of bacteria and microorganisms. ProNanoCote Treatment effectively reduces and contains these problems by applying a thin layer of protectant photocatalyst film on the surface to breakdown all organic pollutants. ProNanoCote’s intelligent surface is activated simply by any light exposure, similar to photosynthesis of plants.

Improve your indoor air quality with Pro-Nano*Cote Air Purifying Treatment by:

  • Reducing volatile organic compounds and other toxic chemical concentrations in a confined space.
  • Reducing odors caused by building material, cleaning products, urine and fecal matter and pets.
  • Reducing mold spores in the air and suppressing organic growth such as mold and mildew on the surface by eliminating the organic material necessary for their growth.

The Advantages of ProNanoCote compared to traditional air filtration technology.

  • No energy consumption. The process uses the already available energy of light, ProNanoCote activates its catalytic property and accelerates the breakdown of any toxic substance.
  • No maintenance. There’s no filter to be cleaned or replaced.
  • Long Lasting. ProNanoCote photo catalytic property does not wear out during the continuous chemical reaction. The treatment replenishes its effect by reacting with oxygen in the air.
  • Does not cause secondary pollution. Materials used in ProNanoCote treatment are water- based neutral solutions containing zero volatile organic compound.
